Cheeseboard and Charcuterie

The Boursin Ritual Dairy-Free Cheeseboard

A How-to That Wows

When your cheese calls for a little meat and a couple things sweet, do you know the proper etiquette? What to buy and how much of it?

There is no need to stress. While there may be a lot of ways to construct a cheeseboard and charcuterie platter, we’ve got a quick guide to help you along your way. Plus, it’ll make your shopping trip a lot easier.

  • Cheese

Buy five types of cheese: creamy, firm, aged, blue, and soft. Of course, Boursin Cheese makes the perfect creamy cheese for any platter. Get about 3 ounces of cheese per guest.

  • Meats

No charcuterie is complete without the three essential meats: prosciutto, salami, and pepperoni. Go ahead and slice a couple pieces of each and arrange on the platter.

  • Something Sweet

Fresh or dried fruit, pieces of chocolate, a thick chutney, and even drizzled honey will add just enough contrast to the savory and salty flavor profile you’re building.

  • Nuts

Scatter a couple handfuls of nuts around the platter, but don’t overdo it. Pick just two or three at the most. We recommend candied pecans or walnuts, pistachios, or almonds.

  • Crackers and Bread

The only thing left is the vehicle in which you’re going to deliver this tasty creation. Bread, crackers, bagel chips, and even artisanal crisps—choose at least two.
